Welcome to my PocketC programming page. On this page, you'll find applications I've written with PocketC, routines I've written for programmers using PocketC, and links to other related stuff.

PocketC is a programming environment to write applications for PalmOS and WinCE palmtops and PDAs. Since I use a PalmPilot, and don't use WinCE, most of the stuff on my page will be specific to PalmOS. PocketC is developed by Orbworks, and the compiler is shareware. The runtime module is free, and you'll need either the runtime module or the compiler to use the programs on this page.

There's also a shareware PocketC IDE/compiler which runs on Windows. I use that in addition to the native-to-my-PalmOS tools. You can download a feature-limited demo of the desktop edition. I find that it's useful when coding in the desktop edition to use the PalmOS Emulator on my PC to run tools such as the CControls editor.

Programs

Here are some programs I have written using PocketC. You will need the PocketC runtime to execute these files.

Developer Tools

The following tools and libraries have been useful to me in development of my PocketC applications:

  • The pedit and pedit32 text editors, by Paul Nevai.
These are excellent Memo-Pad replacements which I use when developing PocketC applications on my PalmPilot.
  • The CControls library, by Mario Schlesinger.
This is an excellent library for GUI development, and includes a graphical UI builder.

  • The PktCSysLib and PktCDateLib libraries, by Marvin E. Wilborne III
These are native libraries which are used to provide extensions to the PocketC language.
